Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant
This practice turns architects’ drawings into buildings that stand safe, last, and finish on time and budget. Ground conditions decide whether that happens. You will own the geoenvironmental work that lets the structural team design with certainty instead of guesswork.
Performance Objectives
- Deliver Phase 1 and Phase 2 site assessments that give structural engineers clean, actionable ground data within agreed programme, so foundation design never waits.
- Identify contamination and geotechnical risks early enough that clients avoid costly surprises and stay within original budgets.
- Produce concise, defensible reports that planners, warranty providers and contractors accept first time, cutting review cycles.
- Advise on practical remediation or ground-improvement options that keep construction moving rather than stopping it.
- Build trusted relationships with architects, contractors and regulators so ADS is the first call for ground-related problems on live jobs.
- Mentor junior staff so the team can handle a growing pipeline without quality slipping.
Environment & Resources
You work alongside civil and structural engineers who need your answers, not more questions. Standard UK investigation and reporting tools are in place; you will shape how we use them as the geoenvironmental function grows.
Essential Qualifications
- Chartered (CEng, CGeol or equivalent) with a proven track record of delivering geoenvironmental assessments on UK building projects.
- Hands-on experience writing Phase 1/2 reports that structural engineers actually use for foundation design.
- Ability to translate complex ground data into clear, commercial recommendations that keep jobs on programme.
- Comfortable dealing directly with clients, planners and contractors on live sites.
- UK driving licence and willingness to visit sites across the North West and beyond.
Role Selling Points
- Direct influence: your work sits on the critical path of every project we take on.
- Small, growing firm: you will help define how geoenvironmental services sit alongside structural engineering.
- Real buildings, not reports for their own sake – we exist to get structures built safely and on time.
- North West based with the chance to shape a new service line from the inside.
If you want your assessments to decide whether buildings actually get built, send your project/career profile to Paul Clarke / paul.clarke@coderesources.co.uk and a short note on a project where your geoenvironmental work kept a job on track.
