Electrical Design Engineer – Contract

📍 Greater Manchester | Hybrid

💷 £40–£48 per hour | Outside IR35

⚡ Long-term Pharmaceutical Project – 3–4 Year Programme

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a major pharmaceutical project at the beginning of a long-term programme of work.

The role will combine hands-on electrical design with technical problem-solving, multidisciplinary coordination and client interaction.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Electrical building services design and calculations

✅ Delivering technically complex designs for a pharmaceutical environment

✅ Providing technical expertise to resolve complex design challenges

✅ Coordinating with internal engineering and project teams

✅ Attending client meetings and providing updates on design/project progress

✅ Undertaking occasional site visits and supporting project delivery

Experience Required

✅ Minimum 8–10 years’ Electrical Design Engineering experience

✅ Strong building services electrical design and calculation capability

✅ Previous Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical or Laboratory project experience is essential

✅ Experience of Category 2 or Category 3 laboratories would be particularly advantageous

✅ Able to work independently and provide technical input on complex projects

✅ Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage directly with clients

This is a long-term Outside IR35 contract offering hybrid working and the opportunity to join a major pharmaceutical programme at an early stage, with work expected to continue for 3–4 years.
