A senior opening has arisen with a small practice, who has recently been acquired by an ambitious consulting firm, for an experienced Associate level Civil Engineer to join their Lancashire based office. This is a senior role with real influence, ideal for someone who wants to lead projects, support business development, and help shape the direction of a forward‑thinking engineering consultancy (equity in the business is an option).
As an Associate, you’ll act as a technical and managerial lead across a diverse portfolio of projects. You’ll oversee design delivery, manage client relationships and support the development of the wider engineering team.
This role offers a blend of hands‑on engineering, project leadership and strategic input to include :
Leading and managing multidisciplinary engineering projects from concept to completion
Providing high‑level technical guidance and reviewing designs, reports, and calculations
Managing client relationships and contributing to business development activities
Overseeing project programmes, budgets, and resource planning
To be considered, the following will have to be evident and will be discussed in detail in an initial consultation with myself :
Degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, or related discipline)
Significant consultancy experience, ideally in a senior or associate‑level role
Strong technical background with the ability to lead complex projects
Excellent communication, leadership, and client‑facing skills
Chartered status (CEng/MIStructE/MICE) or equivalent
A proactive, commercially aware mindset
