Working on challenging and multiple projects simultaneously, you will be comfortable undertaking preliminary and detailed design of roads, drainage and external works in both the public (adoptable) and private realm.
Regionally, you will assist with maintaining the balance of skills and experience within a Manchester Transport & Infrastructure Design team and take a leading internal role in the design of technically challenging projects, whilst Service wide you will assist in the development of technical knowledge in the use of key design software.
The position is for an individual who is expected to be fully conversant with industry standard design software packages; Civil 3D and MicroDrainage, and who takes an active interest in the implementation and development of design standards and emerging technology.
The right candidate must be capable of working independently in producing drawn details of their design work in the form of AutoCAD drawings for regulatory approval and construction.
You must also demonstrate an aptitude, and preferably an ability, to effectively delegate design responsibility to others and act in a mentoring role to less experienced staff.
Strong use of Civil 3D, Microdrainage, Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD combined with a practical approach;
You will also be able to demonstrate ability to work well in a team environment whilst also having personal initiative;
You will be able to show that you have strong communication, management and personal effectiveness skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels;
We expect that candidates will need to have at least 5 years relevant industry experience.
