The Civil Engineering team fully embrace this philosophy by providing a comprehensive range of civil engineering design, procurement, coordination and project management services to support clients through the whole project life cycle; offering a full multi-disciplinary service or standalone specialist technical services.
 
The Civil Engineering team has particular expertise in highways design for roads, pavements, bridges, Section 278 Agreements and in earthworks engineering, cut and fill assessments, remediation, coordination of underground services, flood alleviation, sustainable drainage systems, pumping stations, sewerage and private external works.

As a Civil Engineer based in Birmingham your main duties will include :
Producing external woks and drainage designs relating to medium to large development projects.
Highway design a benefit but not essential
Produce flood risk assessments (FRA’s) and Drainage strategies
Prepare client / project proposals
Assist in negotiating fee proposals and requesting additional fees
Agree design philosophy / design fundamentals

Skills and Experience Required :
2 years plus post-graduate experience in a similar role, ideally within a private practice
Good understanding of section 38, 278 (Highways Act) and section 104, 106 and 185 (Water industry Act) agreements – desirable
Experience in drainage (foul and surface) and minor road way design
Good working knowledge of Microdrainage or comparable drainage design software
On occasion , the candidate will be required to produce cad information and as such a knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3d or comparable civil engineering software would be a benefit
