Associate Director – Mechanical Building Services

Leeds | £80,000–£100,000 + Excellent Benefits

The Company

Our client is a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with an extensive MEP team operating across the UK. The business delivers major, technically complex projects within pharmaceutical, laboratories, defence, science and technology, healthcare, advanced manufacturing and other highly regulated sectors. An opportunity is available for a Mechanical-biased Associate Director to join its Leeds office and play a key role in the leadership, delivery and continued growth of the regional building services team.

The Role

  • Lead the mechanical delivery of major multidisciplinary projects.
  • Manage, mentor and develop engineers across the regional team.
  • Act as a senior technical authority, overseeing design quality and assurance.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Lead fee proposals, bids, presentations and work-winning activities.
  • Manage project resources, programmes, commercial performance and risk.
  • Support the regional leadership team with business planning and strategic growth.
  • Collaborate with specialist teams across an extensive UK network.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong mechanical building services design background.
  • Significant experience within a UK MEP or multidisciplinary consultancy.
  • Proven delivery experience across laboratories, pharmaceutical or other technically controlled environments.
  • Experience leading large or complex multidisciplinary projects.
  • Strong client-facing, team leadership and commercial management capabilities.
  • Track record of developing client relationships and securing new work.
  • Chartered Engineer status, or equivalent professional standing, is strongly preferred.
  • Defence, healthcare, advanced manufacturing or science and technology experience would be advantageous.
  • Eligibility to obtain UK security clearance may be required for certain projects.
